Recycling insulation
One such insulation compactor is the Mil-tek IC60. It compresses and shreds mineral wool and stone wool, which are common materials for home and building insulation. The machine can be loaded with used insulation via a big aperture.
Dense compaction is achieved by compressing the material into a fine powder using a massive screw conveyor, which removes the layered memory. The IC60 contains a number of built-in safety features, such as safety sensors to safeguard users and particle filters to eliminate glass dust, and it is designed to fit inside a regular shipping container.
Compressing more than 500 kg of mineral wool every hour, the IC60 can be easily transported thanks to its ability to load the compressed material directly into a flexible bulk bag, also known as a big bag. There is no need to treat the compressed mineral wool before recycling it.
